Please read the Terms & Conditions below for the BBFC’s Create the Card competition for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
The competition is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 12 - 16, except BBFC employees, Lions Gate International (UK) Limited (“Lionsgate”) employees and anyone otherwise connected with the promotion for the chance to create the official BBFC Black Card to be shown in cinemas in the United Kingdom for showings of the film The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (the “Prize”).
Parental/legal guardian consent is required to enter.
The BBFC is the promoter of the competition and responsible for prize promotion.
Entrants should enter by emailing their submission to competition@bbfc.co.uk or by post, sending a Black Card design to ‘BBFC Create the Card Competition, BBFC, 3 Soho Square, London W1D 3HD.’ Entries received after the closing date of the promotion will not be considered.
By entering the promotion, the participants and their parents and/or legal guardians agree:
to be bound by these terms and conditions;
that, by entering the promotion, the winner and any runners-up agree that their name, age, likeness and artwork may be used by the BBFC for promotional purposes, including social media, press and promotional activity;
that their name, age and county/country of residence will be released if they win a prize.
Entrants must supply their full name, age, school name [if applicable], parents and/or legal guardian’s name, email address, and daytime telephone number. These details will not be passed on to third parties or used in activity not related to the BBFC Create the Card competition.
For more information on our privacy policy, it can be found on our website www.bbfc.co.uk/privacy-statement. Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry. Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted.
If an entrant turns 17 after the competition closing date, we will accept their entries, as long as they were 16 at the time of submission.
The competition is open to individuals or school groups. We welcome and encourage submissions from students attending Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools.
By entering, the participants and their parents and/or legal guardians agree that we can use their entry on all forms of online, mobile, and social media advertising, promotion and marketing activities including but not limited to: display advertising, video on demand services, interactive video on demand, BBFC websites, BBFC social media outlets, (including TikTok, X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube), and experiential activity to support the competition campaign.
By entering, the participants and their parents and/or legal guardians agree that we can use their entry for any advertising or publicity purposes in any form of media, including television, cinema and any other audiovisual medium, radio, out-of-home, print and any other media (including promotional and marketing materials)
The closing date of the competition is 23:59 Sunday 18 October 2026.
Each entrant agrees that their entry meets the following criteria:
The entry must not feature any person, other than characters depicted in the trailer;
The entry must be based on the The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping film;
The entry must be the artists own artwork and cannot be created using digital means;
Entries created using AI are not eligible;
The entry must not contain any obscene, offensive, defamatory, threatening, illegal or otherwise inappropriate images or material and must be free from advertising;
The entry must be original work and must not feature any images, material or rights belonging to any third party (including, without limitation, any copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights);
The entry must be of sufficient clarity and technical quality for inclusion in the competition; The entry must be suitable for presentation in a public forum.
The winner(s) will be requested to sign a release form entering into an agreement which grants the BBFC or Lionsgate certain rights to the submission for its use. If the entrant refuses or is unable to enter these agreements the Prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected who can. This process will continue until a valid winner is selected.
The winning entrant(s) will be the design selected by a panel of judges chosen by the BBFC after the closing date. The BBFC's decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the promotion will be entered into. The winner(s) will be notified within 28 days of the close of the promotion by email or post.
There is no cash alternative and the prize will not be transferable. The name and county of residence of the winner(s) will be available online.
If the prize cannot be fulfilled, then the BBFC retains the right to offer an alternative.
BBFC reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
If the winner is unable to be contacted within 48 hours of the promotion's judging date, the BBFC reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner-up, or to re-offer the prize in any future BBFC promotion.
The winner should be available late October/early November 2026 to participate in a special winner’s experience day in London.
By entering the competition, the winner and their parents or legal guardian acknowledge that they may be requested to participate in publicity and promotional ventures, such as broadcast interviews. The BBFC intends to feature the successful entrant across various media and press platforms to highlight their work; however, any such participation in media engagement will be subject to obtaining prior parental or legal guardian consent and may be subject to additional release documentation to be signed by the winner’s parents and/or carers.
BBFC excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any and all loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant and their parents and/or legal guardians, arising from his or her entry into the promotion or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.
Lionsgate, and its parent, affiliates and subsidiaries are not responsible for the promotion, administration or execution of this competition.
These Terms and Conditions shall be subject to and comply with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations and codes regarding modern slavery, human trafficking, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and prevention of fraud, including, without limitation, the Bribery Act 2010, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Criminal Finance Act 2017, the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 and the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
The promotion is subject to the laws of England & Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
