Book a BBFC school talk

Who are the school talks for?

Our talks are for learners of all ages from primary setting to higher education, as well as home education and youth groups.

What are they about?

We regularly speak to young people studying a film or media studies related course. If you are an educator delivering a film or media course we can adapt our talk to ensure we cover any set texts on the exam specification you are delivering. All talks will include an introduction to the BBFC’s history, information about our age ratings and our Classification Guidelines. Our talks will include a variety of clips from recent films, TV shows and trailers in order to illustrate a variety of content issues at different age ratings.

For primary groups, our school talks align closely with health and wellbeing and online safety curriculum requirements. Our talks encourage children to understand what age ratings are and how they can use them to make safe viewing choices as they begin to navigate online content independently. We incorporate a variety of clips from recent movies in order to illustrate a range of different content issues.
