After misbehaving, a set of naughty twins are punished by being forced to forego their Christmas vacation and go on a seemingly boring boat trip with their parents in this children's adventure film.

violence
An animal and a human is shot with a tranquiliser gun rendering them unconscious. Children fight with each other and a ghost throws books at people.
threat and horror
A set of twins' parents mysteriously disappear leaving them alone in a strange house which appears to be haunted. In other scary moments, the children are chased by a gorilla and later by an armed villainous character. They also find themselves trapped in a sinking submarine. Whilst playing with sparklers inside, a child accidentally sets fire to a Christmas tree causing them to run away in fear and be duly punished. All threat has comic and fantastical elements and reassuring outcomes.
language
Mild bad language ('crap') is accompanied by very mild terms such as 'butt', 'screw', 'hell' and 'damn'.
sex
A boy finds himself fancying a girl that, unknown to him, is his mother as a child. This results in comic moments in which they almost kiss, although they are always interrupted before it happens. References are also made to a couple 'hooking up'.
rude humour
Mild rude humour includes burping, spitting, urinating and farting jokes. A girl with glasses is repeatedly called 'four eyes' which she does not take offence to. Children also call others 'wacko' and 'bonehead'.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
additional issues
In an animated flashback scene, a man is implied to have accidently cut off his hand with an electric saw and we later see a hook in its place. A woman says she was called 'twisted' and 'lunatic' after being admitted to a mental health facility. Upsetting moments occur due to illness, bereavement and children believing they have been abandoned by their parents.
