When a family feature on the front of a magazine, their son discovers a crude pen drawing of a penis on the cover of a copy of the magazine at school. Bullies have also written the words 'suck' and 'dick'.

A group of school bullies shout at two gay teenagers and use homophobic language ('gaylords'). One boy is frightened about being affectionate with his boyfriend in public, through fear of what other people may say to him. Discrimination is clearly condemned by the film's messaging.

There is natural buttock nudity when a teenager dives in to a lake.

A teenager struggles with his feelings about his sexuality. There are also references to bereavement.

A young teenager drinks beer, after which he acts aggressive and repeatedly vomits. Teen drinking is condemned, rather than glamourised.
