YOU MIGHT BE THE KILLER is a US comedy horror in which a camp counsellor seeks advice from a horror film enthusiast to help him escape from a serial killer, but he begins to realise he's not as innocent as he first thought.
violence
Visceral killings take place, such as bloody stabbings, bludgeonings, decapitations, throat slashings and dismembering which result in significant bloodshed. Killings are often depicted more than once during flashback sequences, including a man slicing another's head in half.
threat and horror
Counsellors of a woodland summer camp are stalked and menaced by a masked serial killer. There are sustained scenes of threat as they flee and attempt to fight back against the killer. The film knowingly employs well-known horror tropes for comic effect, which helps to break up intense scenes of threat.
injury detail
Bodies with gory injuries and severed limbs are depicted in the aftermath of killings. For example, a man's body is strung upside down and his torso mutilated, resulting in fleshy intestinal detail.
additional issues
There is also infrequent use of strong language ('f**k'), along with moderate ('bitch'), and milder terms ('son of a bitch', 'ass', 'asshole', 'shit', 'crap', 'bullshit', 'hell', 'God', 'Jesus' and 'damn'). Sex references, innuendo and sexual harassment also feature, but are delivered in a comic manner.
