Sex references and innuendo occur throughout. There are sexualised images of a topless man. In one scene, a woman finds condoms in a bathroom. There are also references to erections, affairs, threesomes and lingerie.

There is occasional mild rude humour, including a shocked female homeowner asking whether her female house sitter is wearing her underwear. There is also some comic play on an Italian word which sounds like an English word for the genitals.

There are themes of bereavement and upsetting scenes where a man is hospitalised after a workplace accident.
