There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms including 'bitch', 'piss', 'sod', 'arsehole', 'God' and 'damn'.

A couple engage in strong sexual activity, including consensual abusive and fetishistic behaviour. There are also strong verbal and visual sex references.

A man is executed by hanging in front of a cheering crowd, with an emphasis placed on the involuntary reaction this causes to the hanging man's genitals inside his trousers. A woman miscarries, which results in septicaemia and extensive bloodshed as she dies. A person draws blood in an act of self-harm.

Upsetting scenes are centred on domestic abuse and bereavement.
