There are images of a dead man's bloody face and broken jaw after his head is crushed by a tree. After a man blinds another man using a branding iron, there is sight of his empty eye sockets.
When a man is bludgeoned to death, there is sight of his caved-in face. A woman repeatedly stabs a man's face, with bloody impact of knife shown on screen.
The film features strong language ('motherf**ker', 'f**k') as well as uses of 'shit', 'asshole', 'bullshit', 'son of a bitch', 'damn', 'Jesus' and 'God'. There is sustained threat throughout when a group of hikers are stalked, attacked and imprisoned by a village full of people who live in a forest. There are scenes of sexual violence in which a woman volunteers to sleep with a man rather than be murdered. In a scene of horror, men and women who have been blinded and starved are briefly shown feasting off a dead body.
