There are four uses of very strong language ('c**t'). One is said out of frustration and anger by a male music student. This use is challenged by the teacher, who makes it clear the language is inappropriate. The other three uses are shouted out by audience members who are heckling a punk band they dislike. Although the uses are aggressive and aimed towards teenage girls in the band, they are not accompanied by any violence or threat. Furthermore, they are insulting to the band in general, rather than individually directed, and the band members are amused by the heckling rather than offended. The film also contains over 15 uses of strong language ('f**k') and one use of discriminatory language.
Other issues include some moderate sex references, including the name of a punk band called 'Incest Brothers'. There is also sight of older teenagers smoking cigarettes at a party.
