A woman hangs precariously from a window as she attempts to recover an item she has dropped, although she comes to no harm.

Mild bad language includes uses of 'bastard', 'bloody', 'bugger' and 'God'; the term 'shit' is also implied.

Occasional mild sex references include a reference to the consummation of a marriage. A couple briefly kiss.

One scene features the homophobic abuse of a man, including use of the derogatory term 'nancy'. There are also verbal references to violence against people because of their sexuality, including a description of gay people being punched and spat at. Sexist attitudes and behaviour towards women is a main theme of the film and reflects the historical period in which it is set.

A woman's buttocks are briefly visible as she swims.

Verbal references are made to sexual harassment experienced by a woman during a protest.

A person collapses and dies, after they suffer homophobic abuse. References are also made to illness and death. Occasional scenes depict arguments and emotional upset.

Occasional scenes feature adult characters smoking and drinking alcohol.
