A man is beaten to death with a blunt instrument by a police officer; while most blows occur out of shot, the man's skull is heard breaking. In other scenes, a man is shot in the head, while another is struck across the head with a bottle. A flashback sequence depicts a man being tortured with electricity in an archaic psychiatric facility. Other violence is milder, such as people exchanging slaps and shoves. There are also references to real people who have been murdered.

People are haunted by ghostly whisperings and ominous figures as they explore an abandoned psychiatric facility. An unknown force also brings about people's premature death. There are also unsettling scenes, such as a woman discovering the bodies of two people hung by the neck.
