Treading Water

A man is seen having sex and receiving oral from a sex worker in various outdoor locations, which includes breast and buttocks nudity. People tell dirty jokes which include references to incest and oral sex. A man says he still gets 'hard ons' and can masturbate.

Scenes of drug misuse include sequences in which a man prepares and injects heroin, including one occasion on a bus close to where a child is playing. People take cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy and smoke cannabis. A man makes a nearly unconscious man ingest drugs.

Whilst talking to his therapist, a man discusses his urges to rape a woman. An abusive man coerces his pregnant girlfriend to engage in sex work and is accused of 'pimping' her out.

A man imagines putting a glass lightbulb in his mouth and swallowing parts of it, resulting in bloody injuries to his mouth. In other disturbing scenes, he fantasises about slamming a woman's head against a desk and repeatedly punching her in the face as well as harming himself and beating a man with a brick.
