The theme of the documentary is homophobia and transphobia and there is use of homophobic terms such as 'fag', 'gay', 'cake', 'batty boy' and 'queer'. Frequent references are made to the verbal insults, threats and violence gay and transgender athletes endure around the world. There are real videos of people being hit and whipped for being gay. In one clip, a beaten man is tied to a barrel begging perpetrators to stop. In another, a man is seen being forced to walk naked through the town and there is a bloody wound on his buttocks. An athlete describes how his step father beat him and threw acid on him because of his sexuality and there are detailed descriptions of how a man was murdered for being gay. There are verbal and visual references to the lynching of slaves. Homophobia, transphobia and racism are strongly condemned throughout.

An expert in slavery describes how enslaved men were anally raped as a form of punishment in front of their family and friends. There is sight of a drawing of a slave lying face down and having his trousers pulled off as it is implied about to be raped by white slave owners.
