Violence
In one scene, a woman receives twenty lashes as a punishment and is beaten on the back. However, she is thrashed over her clothes and there is no injury detail. In another scene, a man and woman are buried up to their necks in sand before they are stoned. There is brief sight of the man's bloodstreaked face. There are also scenes in which people are shot and killed; however, injury detail is limited.
There is infrequent mild bad language ('assholes', 'bastard'). At one point, a man throws a spear at a cow, which subsequently collapses. However, assurances were received from the film makers that the animal was not harmed. The spear was added after filming, using digital effects, and the appearance of the animal collapsing was created by sedating the cow under veterinary supervision.
