violence
There are occasional scenes of graphic violence in which a man beats and slits the throats of men who he has met under the pretence of being a sex worker. These scenes contain blood spurts and strong injury detail, as well as sadistic intent. Other scenes of violence feature stabbings and crunchy beatings, including a homophobic attack on a gay couple which also includes use of discriminatory terms ('fairy', 'faggot').
sexual violence and sexual threat
A confident, yet domineering, man takes advantage of his vulnerable roommate, most strikingly during a scene of sex in which the man chokes his roommate in an attempt to demonstrate his power and control over him. While the roommate expresses discomfort and removes his consent, it is suggested they are both aroused and continue to have sex. The roommate later attempts to emulate this behaviour in a sexual encounter with another man.
additional issues
There is use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'), which is accompanied by moderate ('bitch') and milder terms ('shit', 'ass', 'bullshit', 'asshole', 'God' and 'damn'). The body of a man is discovered surrounded by a pool if blood and a bloodied murder weapon. Visual allusions are made to child sexual abuse, but these are discreet; so too are accompanying verbal references. A man briefly snorts drugs in one scene. The film also contains alcohol abuse and mental health struggles.
