The Tale of Silyan

A field is seen ablaze, its crops burning whilst a man stands amongst the flames.

A man playfully grabs his wife's clothed breast.

There is a brief reference to a person who took their own life when their family left.

The documentary tells the story of the loss of livelihood of farmers in Macedonia and how some feel forced to leave their families and move abroad to make a living. There is also a theme of animal death; a stork picks up the body of its dead chick in its beak and another dead bird is seen with flies swarming around it. The farmers give the dead animals proper burials.
