The President's Cake

A child shoves and strikes another. A man drags a boy from his shop.

Frightened children take shelter in a building as gunfire sounds and bombs explode nearby. A man implies that a child and their family may have been beaten for defying state rules. There are scenes in which a child is chased by adults.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k') as well as milder terms which include 'shit', 'ass', 'bastard', 'screw', 'God', 'damn' and 'hell'.

A boy is referred to as 'the cripple's son'.

Men are occasionally seen with blood seeping through the bandages of dressed injuries; dried blood is splashed over a butcher's overall.

It becomes clear that a seemingly kindly man intends to sexually abuse a young girl; she escapes before any assault can occur. A man attempts to make a bargain with a pregnant woman to give her supplies in return for sexual favours; she reluctantly agrees but this situation does not progress.

Characters grieve for lost loved ones and there are references to illness. There are also scenes which focus on people living under a dictatorship during wartime.

Characters smoke cigarettes and from hookah pipes.
