The Possession

Contains strong sustained threat and horror
threat and horror
A sense of threat is sustained throughout as Em's behaviour becomes increasingly unpredictable and violent. There are several jump moments and a number of sequences in which characters are terrified. In one scene, a woman is thrown about and beaten up by an unseen force, causing her limbs to twist in unusual angles. In another, a woman becomes distressed as blood starts to run from her eyes. The climactic exorcism scene shows Em completely taken over by the demon, speaking in its voice and screaming and lashing out. Her eyes roll back in her head as people try to restrain her and exorcise the demon.
additional issues
There is a single use of strong language ('f**k') alongside milder terms including 'shit', 'hell', 'damn' and 'screwed', as well as a single use of the word 'spaz'.
