The Pod Generation

A couple are occasionally seen kissing in bed, with one sequence implying they may have just had sex. There are frequent references to conception and carrying a child, and in one scene a couple watch a sperm enter an egg on a large screen as a woman narrates the conception. Protestors challenge a corporation growing babies in pods, chanting "no pods, leave our wombs alone", and women talk about how they are judged and prejudiced against due to pregnancy and childbirth. There are briefly tense moments in which a couple worry their baby is in danger inside a pod, and in one scene they crack it open to retrieve the child. In the context of the future setting, people inhale from gas masks as part of a social activity.
