threat and horror
Strong threat includes a woman being drugged and held captive in her bed by members of her family who attempt to persuade her it is for her own good. A parasitic entity inside a child's toy menaces people and takes control of their behaviour. There are also strong horror images in the dark and disturbing drawings of a child, and disfigurement caused by the parasite.
There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms such as 'crap', 'shit', 'ass', 'asshole' and 'damn'. There is a scene of moderate sex without nudity. There is brief moderate violence. Moderate injury detail includes sight of a small pool of blood under a woman's head after a fall, and the skin on a man's arm scratched away by fingernails. There are references to a character's past history of prescription drug addiction.
