The film follows a woman who meets and engages in a relationship with an escort. Scenes of sex are discreet and impressionistic, with close-up focus on kissing and caressing, and with implied nudity only. There are also verbal references to sex work, but these are not explicit or crude in nature. The revelation that a woman's fiance is actually her escort occurs in front of the woman's teenage son. A man makes reference to taking a woman's virginity and the subsequent bleeding she experienced after sex; he tries to argue that they are bound together because of this, but this belief is not condoned.
