Characters are beaten, choked and strangled resulting in minimal bloodshed. A man is hanged by his wrists from the ceiling after being pushed down some stairs. Other moments of violence include whippings, stabbings and people being attacked by vicious dogs with sight of blood on them in the aftermath. There are verbal and visual references to torture and murder.
