There are scenes of strong bloody violence, with a woman murdering a succession of men, using various methods including shooting, stabbing, slashing, bludgeoning, strangulation and electrocution. After each murder, she cuts off a finger, which she keeps as a trophy.
language
There is very strong language ('c**t'), and strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker', 'c**ksucker'), as well as milder terms such as 'bitch', 'whore', 'shit', 'piss' and 'sod'.
sexual violence and sexual threat
There are a number of verbal references to sexual violence including to rape and child sexual abuse.
additional issues
The story explores issues of discrimination and online abuse and trolling. There main character is a journalist who encounters numerous instance of online abuse, much of which is misogynistic, and sometime racist. In one comic scene, a white man appears in blackface, as the Dutch folkloric character 'Black Pete'. The journalist has previously criticised the continued celebration of this character. There is a brief and undetailed sex scene, and brief genital nudity which occurs outside of any sexual context.
