SUBURBIA is a US drama in which a group of teenagers feel ostracised by society.

sexual violence and sexual threat
There is a scene in which a woman is forcibly stripped and humiliated for some time by a group of men in the audience, while others stand around and laugh. In another scene two men grab a young woman and rip off her shirt, exposing her breasts. They threaten her and her friends, calling her a 'whore' and saying that the next time they'll do more than rip her shirt. A teenage girl reveals that her father used to beat her, with sight of the scars on her back, and also tells another character that he molested her.
There is a scene in which a wild dog grabs a toddler and thrashes around with the child in its mouth, killing it. There is also a scene in which a child is fatally knocked down by a car, with sight of blood. There are several fight sequences in a club, one of which features a character stabbing another in the back with a knife. There are images featuring sexualised nudity, use of strong language ('f**k'), and other terms such as 'bitch', 'asshole' and 'slut'. There are also instances of racist and discriminatory behaviour, including homophobia. A character overdoes on drugs, and there are references to suicide. There are scenes in which characters shoot wild dogs, and in a sequence in which a character picks up a dead cat in the road and later throws it into a person's house, and another sequence in which a man puts a live rat into his mouth, although it does not appear to be harmed. There is frequent use of alcohol and tobacco, and some drug misuse.
