A child slaps and kicks a much larger villain who has helped to kidnap her. A circus performance features a monster pretending to eat a child and a monster swallows a man whole; however, he later vomits him up.

A scene of threat features a small monster's arm nearly becoming severed as he is pulled from side to side against his will in a circus show. It is later seen severed and hanging from a lever whilst he lays unconscious. Other scary moments include a giant monster bearing its sharp teeth, angry mobs invading a castle with pitchforks and fire, as well as a scientist creating monsters in his laboratory. These moments have reassuring outcomes and are often interspersed with comic moments.

Infrequent very mild bad language ('moron') occurs.

Women comically throw their bras at a small monster. There is also frequent toilet humour and a man's trousers are pulled down as he dangles from a hot air balloon.

Upsetting moments arise due to kindly monsters feeling unloved and neglected by their creator. A character is taken advantage of by others for their own personal and financial gain. Characters are called 'hideous' and 'freaks' because of their appearance. There are also comic mentions of heart disease, stroke and kidney failure.
