There are scenes of violence in which humans fight creatures with improvised weapons. These include scenes in which a creature attempts to swallow a child, a man bludgeons a hooded creature, a creature's limb is hacked off and a girl tears a creature in half, all in a fantastical context. There are also references to violent acts, including to ideas of attacking people, and drawings show creatures carrying out vicious attacks, though without strong detail.

People are stalked and menaced by colourful monsters based on a child's drawings in occasionally intense and sustained scenes of horror and fantastical threat. In some scenes, a hooded figure causes jumpscares and moves in an unsettling manner; the monster attacks children with a spear-like arm and uses tentacles protruding from its mouth to restrain and trap them. In another intense sequence, a creature attacks a school bus with children inside.

Bad language includes 'b-hole', 'shit', 'ass', 'butt', 'jerk', 'God' and 'hell'.
