Silent Night, Deadly Night

Scenes of violence are often intense, and include use of weapons such as axes, bottles, and bows and arrows. People are stabbed, slashed, impaled, strangled, decapitated, and have limbs severed, resulting in blood spurts and gore. In one scene, a woman bites a man’s nose off. A flashback sequence features a depiction of domestic abuse towards children, involving acts of violence and use of drugs.

There are suspenseful and occasionally menacing scenes of strong threat, including situations involving abducted children.

Infrequent very strong language ('c**t') occurs, as well as more frequent use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'), and milder terms including 'pussy', 'bitch', 'shit', 'ass', 'Jesus', 'Christ' and 'God'.

Song lyrics feature innuendo relating to sex. There is an implied post-coital scene.

A flashback sequence briefly depicts a racially aggravated attack by a white supremacist. References are made to a child being subjected to a homophobic slur ('fag') by bullies. Discriminatory attitudes and behaviour are condemned within the narrative.

A man sexually threatens a woman during a brief scene.

Killings and their aftermath include gory injury detail, such as severed limbs and brain matter. A decomposing corpse is shown within a crime scene context. A person extracts a bullet from a deep wound.

There are references to mental health, including those that explore trauma, anger issues and hallucinations.
