Frequent scenes of violence include stabbings, slashings with blades and swords, shootings, and heavy blows to the head. People are impaled, struck with weapons, and whipped. A person is sliced in two with a large blade. Limbs and heads are severed. Battlefield sequences feature combatants being cut down with swords. Much of the violence occurs in fantastical contexts.

Scenes feature an unsettling tone, with people held captive, restrained, and threatened with blades. There are screams of terror and sequences in which characters are menaced by villainous figures. A vehicle crash is used as a means of attack. Several sequences carry a horror atmosphere, with fantastical imagery contributing to a sustained sense of threat.

There is use of strong language ('motherf**ker', 'f**k',) and milder terms including 'bitch', 'bastard', 'shit', 'piss', 'ass', 'damn' and 'hell'.

Sex references include verbal references to bestiality, anal sex, necrophilia, and urolagnia. A person is seen licking blood from a corpse. Occasional innuendo and other sex references also feature.

A person holds a knife to an injured woman and forces a kiss on her.

There is frequent and detailed gore throughout, including sight of internal organs, severed heads and limbs, flayed skin, blood spurts, and open wounds. Bodies are shown in the aftermath of violence, bloodied and mutilated. In one prolonged sequence, a person undergoes a painful transformation in which wings emerge from their body, accompanied by graphic detail of tearing flesh and exposed tissue. Scarring and gorey medical procedures are also visible in certain scenes.

There is sexualised nudity, including horns emerging from women's breasts during fantastical sequences. Artistic and natural breast nudity also occur.
