Saw III

Frequent scenes of violence are sadistic in nature, with victims restrained or tied up, and an emphasis is placed on their pain and suffering. There is use of torture devices, as well as shootings, stabbings, beatings, and a throat slashing. These scenes are often graphic and dwell extensively on bloody aftermath and gore.

Sustained sequences of threat feature people being kidnapped, restrained, held prisoner, and made to participate in a series of deadly 'tests'. These moments include characters being encouraged to kill or injure themselves or others.

There is very strong language ('c**t'), as well as frequent strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and milder terms including 'bitch', 'bullshit', 'hell', 'damn', 'God' and 'Christ'.

Brief scenes show prescription drug misuse.

There is a scene of self-harm and references to suicide.

Detailed and graphic injury detail includes sight of severed limbs, a severed head, exposed intestines, broken bones, gore, blood spurts, burns, and open wounds. A sustained medical sequence shows brain matter and blood in close-up, and crime scene detail includes mutilated corpses.

Brief nudity includes sight of a woman's breasts during a scene of threat.

References are made to bereavement, child death, illness, and mental health issues.
