Scenes of violence include characters being shot, resulting in some bloody detail. A man is beaten by two others and it is implied that a person is stabbed.

Scenes of threat include a duel and a man being chased. Characters are briefly robbed at gunpoint and a woman holds a pet mouse near a flame.

There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t'), strong language ('f**k') and milder terms such as 'cock', 'whore', 'shit, 'bloody', 'godamn' and 'hell'.

Scenes of sex include clothed thrusting detail and analingus. There are also verbal references to sex, brothels and sex workers.

Characters make discriminatory comments about others and there are references to sexism.

A man snorts a substance implied to be drugs. A doctor gives a patient opium for pain.

There is sight of a man's arm being amputated. A bloody bullet wound is treated by a doctor; this eventually bleeds through the bandage. There is sight of injected wounds and a dead body is seen with a stick poking out of their back.
