violence
There are scenes in which Nazi soldiers inflict torture on imprisoned men using methods of burning, whipping and the removal of finger nails. However, this violence is shown only in part, with the torture largely occurring out of sight. A woman is shot in front of her young son after running after a vehicle that is taking away her fiance, and a man is executed by firing squad in front of a group of children, but these scenes are depicted without bloody detail.
threat and horror
Nazis take control of a city, search people's homes, round them up and threaten them.
language
Bad language is mild ('bugger', 'bloody', 'bastard'), and very mild ('God').
sex
There are implied references to sex work in a historical context.
drugs
A woman handles a phial labelled 'cocaine' and attempts to empty some of the contents onto the back of her hand; however, the phial is empty. It is implied that the woman has an addiction, but this issue is handled discreetly, and the substance is not mentioned verbally. It is later revealed that the woman is being groomed by another, who is feeding her drug habit in return for information about the resistance.
injury detail
Men are seen with bloodied faces and torsos, and with skin burns while being interrogated by Nazis for information about their resistance efforts.
suicide
A deserter is reported to have taken his own life.
alcohol and tobacco
Scenes of smoking are reflective of the time period in which the film is set.

Violence
One sequence shows the interrogation and torture of a suspected Resistance fighter. A man is tied in a chair and torture is implied by the victim's cries and by brief sight of blood on his face and chest. The victim is whipped and a blow torch is applied to his chest, with only brief sight of flames. More is suggested than actually depicted.
There is also implied drug misuse, with a character attempting to ingest liquid from a small glass bottle. Although the drug is neither seen nor identified, the character is admonished by a friend who tells them that addiction is bad.
