A father briefly canes his son, followed by sight of a scar on the child's back. A man is pushed against a wall, accompanied by brief sight of blood on his body and clothing. These scenes contain limited detail.

A man briefly brandishes an axe and threatens to kill his wife; however, he is prevented from doing so. A man briefly threatens to kill a goat, but another man intervenes and stops him.

Infrequent moderate bad language ('harlot') occurs, as well as milder terms ('shit', 'damn', 'hell').

There are references to adultery, and also to men desiring another man's wife.

The film deals with caste-based discrimination. A sexist reference occurs in a scene in which a character says a man should not perform household chores. However, discrimination is not condoned by the work as a whole.

A man falls, followed by brief sight of his bloodstained foot. A character coughs up blood.

Men briefly hold down a goat and prepare to butcher it; however, the scene cuts away before the animal is slaughtered.

A character collapses, briefly coughs up blood and is taken to hospital where he subsequently dies. An upset child flees from a parent. There are also funeral scenes, and people grieve for the loss of loved ones.

Adults smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.
