Sequences include moderate and occasionally comic threat. One moment sees a man put a gun inside another's mouth in order to distract some debt collectors. A man aggressively pulls a woman off a stage as she sings claiming 'she is his'. A character is beaten offscreen and subsequently seen lying on the floor with blood and bruises on his face. There are verbal references to a violent murder in which a man was cut into pieces with a saw. Scenes briefly take place in a burlesque style nightclub with sight of women dancing; however, there is no nudity. There are references to adultery and bigamy.
