There are prolonged and sustained scenes of torture, and which often include sadistic humiliation, including forced nudity. Prisoners' feet are smashed with hammers, a man's fingers are broken, urine is poured over a man's face, and a man is forced to falsely admit to incestuous activity. There are also scenes in which prisoners are beaten, often by several attackers. Many of these scenes dwell on the infliction of pain and injury, and there is also blood in the aftermath of violence.

The film contains scenes of psychological threat, involving threat of violence and torture. Some of the threat is meted out to men who are forcibly restrained and partially naked. Characters are forced to confess to crimes they have not committed, such as incest and child sexual abuse, in the face of humiliation and torture.

Strong language ('motherf*ker', 'f**k') occurs, as well as milder terms ('whore', 'bastard', 'piss', 'bloody', 'shit', 'crap', ' God', 'damn', 'hell').

There is a verbal reference to "'disgusting Jews", and a man is addressed as "'You f**king gypsy!". Jews are beaten, and this violence is endorsed by an onlooker whose beliefs are immediately challenged. Racism and discrimination is not condoned by the work as a whole.

It is reported that a person attempted to take their own life. However, the suicide attempt is not shown on screen.

There is close-up sight of wound detail, as well as blood in the aftermath of violence and torture.
