It is suggested that a woman's drink has been laced with speed. A man handles a pipe from which to smoke Marijuana. There are also verbal references to racism and mild rude humour.

A woman says in voice-over that a man pushes his crotch against when he greets her with a hug. A character mentions the antisemitic attitudes of a country club and there is use of the homophobic term 'dyke'. A man suggests an angry woman is 'on the rag'. A woman pushes her husband over and then slaps his chest during an argument. There is brief reference to a woman's mental health concerns around her body image. Partygoers drink alcohol and are shown drunk.

There are infrequent verbal references to bulimia. We see people smoking joints, and there are infrequent references to marijuana misuse; however, drug misuse is not glamorised. There are moderate sex references, including a brief sequence in which a woman kneels down in front of a man, implying off-screen oral sex. In another scene a man gives a woman an unsolicited shoulder rub until another woman orders him to stop.

There are references to a woman's poor mental health, including when the character hears a self-deprecating inner voice, and when she references her insecurity and a possible previous eating disorder. However, the episode offers reassuring counterbalances which show the character working positively to overcome these issues, including when she seeks advice from a friend. There are moderate sex references, including a crude joke regarding stimulation, and a remark about a woman's sexual appetite. Characters are seen smoking marijuana. Occasional sexist remarks are made, which are clearly disapproved of by characters in the scene and the episode as a whole. A man repeatedly hits a punching bag in the gym, causing his knuckles to bleed. Later, the man insinuates that he wants to punch another man in the face.
