Scenes of violence include shooting, stabbing and heavy blows resulting in bloody injuries. There are also verbal references to a woman being physically and verbally abused by her husband. In one scene she has visible cuts and bruises, and implies they were caused by him. There are also scenes in which rabbits are shot during hunting, but no real animals were harmed.

Scenes of threat include one in which a masked intruder wakes a sleeping woman, briefly chokes her, and puts the blade of a knife inside her cheek, threatening cut her.

There is a scene in which a woman performs oral sex on a man.

The story concerns the French activist Jules Guérin and his Ligue Antisémitique. In an early scene, he and some accomplices attack a young child and his father in the street, then burn down their newsstand. The attack is accompanied by antisemitic abuse. In a later scene, Guérin addresses a rally, comprising like-minded people, and uses antisemitic slurs such as 'yid', while promoting violence against Jewish people by slaughtering a pig with a butcher knife, and declaring that the same fate awaits all Jews.

A woman's dismembered torso is examined in detail by pathologists.

Two men prepare to rape a woman unconscious after heroin use and capture salacious photographs. Another woman interrupts them while one of the men stimulates himself behind a curtain, his erection visible in shadow on the wall behind. The woman who intervened, also feeling effects of drug misuse, is threatened and pinned against the wall by her husband.
