Paranorman

A few scenes feature mild violence, including a character receiving a blow to the head, fantastical energy blasts and repeated blows. These scenes are fantastical in nature and lack stronger detail. There are some undetailed references to murder and violence in dialogue.

Scenes of threat involve young characters being chased by and battling supernatural entities. Characters encounter corpses and dead bodies in darkly lit environments and a severed head appears briefly in a comic context but with no realistic detail. The scenes of threat and horror are lightened by comedy and often have reassuring outcomes. Knives occasionally feature; however, these are not used to inflict harm.

There is very mild bad language including 'jerk', 'freaking', 'butt', 'God' and 'OMG'. There is some comic word play on mild bad language, as well as a comic moment in which a child is required to swear an oath and asks whether this means 'the f word', although the term is not further explained.

The film contains mild verbal sex references, including to 'polyamory'. However, these references are comic in nature. Some scenes allude to romantic attraction.
