PARALLEL is a Canadian sci-fi thriller film in which a group of friends find a portal to multiple alternate universes.
There is use of strong language (‘f**k’, ‘motherf**ker’). Milder terms include ‘prick’, ‘bitch’, ‘shit’, ‘asshole’ and ‘piss’.
A man is cut in half by a portal, resulting in brief gory images of bloody internal organs and spilling intestines. Two off-screen shootings result in strong bloody images, including a spray of blood and skull fragments.
A man chases and attacks a terrified woman. A masked home invader shoots a woman in the head, without strong visual detail.
There are infrequent moderate verbal suicide references. One scene shows two people sharing a joint. Other issues include infrequent mild sex references, including a scene in which a couple lie in bed together after implied off-screen sex.
