There are scenes involving racist attitudes and behaviour throughout the film. For example, a group of white men accost a Black driver, surround his car, address him as ‘boy’, and spit at him. A white man frequently expresses offensive views associating Black people with laziness, criminal behaviour, and lack of ‘Britishness’. In another scene a Black man is pulled over and roughly manhandled by police officers who accuse him of carrying weapons and drugs. We also see artwork featuring a racist caricature on the wall of a white family’s home. The film as a whole does not condone discrimination.
