sexual violence and sexual threat
A man violently restrains a woman during an attempt to rape her. The victim flees the situation and the perpetrator subsequently engages in rough, non-consensual sex with his wife. A group of men force a woman to strip naked at gunpoint. This is accompanied by strong violence. Other moments of sexual violence include a man voyeuristically watching a couple have sex and a character groping a woman’s breast at a party. In one scene, unsympathetic male characters taunt a victim of sexual violence using crude, misogynistic language. However, sexual violence is not condoned by the work as a whole.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
additional issues
There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t'). Occasional strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') also occurs, as well as misogynistic terms ('bitch', 'slut', 'whore', ‘pussy’) and milder terms such as 'arsehole', 'shit', 'Jesus', 'Christ' and 'God'. Scenes of strong violence involve heavy blows using fists and improvised weapons, resulting in bloody aftermath detail. Strong bloody images include sight of blood-stained bodies, clothing and dead animals. During a darkly lit scene, a person is shown with a branch impaled through their abdomen. A man and woman have sex in a forest during a darkly lit scene, accompanied by sexualised breast nudity and riding detail. A stylised and surreal sequence depicts an orgy in which naked people writhe and thrust against each other. There is male and female full-frontal nudity, within both sexualised and natural contexts. A girl accidentally falls off a cliff during an ominous and tense scene of strong threat. A character becomes highly distressed during an encounter with a group of women at a ritualistic bonfire ceremony. There are also scenes of gun threat. There are upsetting references to miscarriage. A flashback sequence depicts a child discovering a body in the aftermath of suicide, however, this lacks visual detail. There are infrequent scenes of domestic abuse, including a man hitting his children. His behaviour is immediately challenged by another adult. A flashback sequence depicts a girl with a blood-stained face hiding from her abusive mother. Occasional verbal references are made to domestic abuse.
