NIGHTMARE RADIO - NIGHTSTALKER is a horror anthology film in which a stalker torments a radio DJ whose late-night show challenges listeners to call in with their own scary stories.
violence
There are bloody stabbings and impalements, and a person’s throat is cut in gory fashion. In another scene a man slaps his young adult son. There are also verbal references to the murder of a newborn baby.
threat and horror
Frightened characters are menaced by various threats such as demonic entities, ghosts and a masked serial killer, resulting in sustained scenes of horror and ‘jump scare’ moments. In other scenes a woman is subjected to a series of threatening phone calls, and is then hunted and attacked by a hatchet-wielding stalker.
language
There is use of strong language (‘f**k’). Milder terms include ‘dick’, ‘asshole’, ‘ass’, ‘bullshit’ and ‘shit’.
sex
There is a scene of strong sex in which a woman rides a man in bed, with mechanical thrusting detail and glimpses of breast nudity.
sexual violence and sexual threat
A murderous stalker corners a woman and tells her that he intends to rape her. It is initially implied that he subsequently does so off-screen, but we later learn that this is not the case.
injury detail
There are strong grisly images of pools of blood, internal organs, and corpses with gory wounds. In one scene a person is fed organ meat that is implied to be human in origin.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
additional issues
There are infrequent moderate references suicide, as well as non-graphic references to patients at an asylum having been subjected to ‘atrocious’ medical experiments in the early 20th century.
