There are repeated flashbacks to a young woman murdering her boyfriend. These include sight of her pulling the trigger; and images of him bleeding in the aftermath. There are also verbal references to her boyfriend being verbally aggressive, controlling, and psychologically abusive towards her. In one scene, she examines bruises on her arms, caused by him grabbing her during an argument. There is also a scene in which a man shoots a man, after which a bloody bullet hole briefly appears on his clothed chest.

The film features strong language ('f**k'), uses of 'bitch' and 'slut' as well as milder terms. There is also a discriminatory use of 'fag'.

Scenes of strong sex feature thrusting and sexual moaning detail.

A woman grimaces and looks uncomfortable during a scene of sex; after which it is implied through dialogue that her sexual partner did not use a condom, without her consent. In a scene of brief sexual threat, a man pushes a woman against a fence, kissing her as she repeatedly asks him to stop. There is also an undetailed reference to a historic real case of child sexual abuse.
