violence
A child throws empty cans at a seal swimming in water; his actions are not condoned. There are slapstick scenes in which people push each other into a swimming pool. Two boys shove each other and one falls into the sea, only to quickly climb out unharmed.
threat and horror
A man chases a woman and calls her a 'cannibal' as he tries to pull her sealskin overcoat off her, in a comic scene. It is implied that a man is eating whole fish, with sight of him sucking their tails into his mouth. There is real world footage of pollution and industrial developments which have caused damage to marine life, with sight of dead fish floating.
additional issues
There are dated uses of derogatory mental health terms such as 'nutter', 'nutcase' and 'crackpot' to describe a man who claims to be a magical sea creature.
