violence
Domestic abuse is a pervasive theme of the documentary. The central character speaks, often at length, about verbal, psychological and physical abuse at the hands of her former partner. These scenes include images showing the woman lying unconscious following a beating, and others in which her bruised face is shown. The woman's teenage children also talk about witnessing domestic abuse and the traumatic effect it had on them. However, the film emphasises the woman's courage and bravery in breaking free of her abuser and bringing up her daughters as a single mother, as well as emphasising her mountaineering achievements. References to violence include a scene in which a person describes how another person broke a man's ribs with a single punch, and another scene in which a person relates their fear that a violently inclined person might kill him.
language
Strong language ('f**k') occurs infrequently, as well as milder terms ('shit', 'crap', 'God').
discrimination
There are references to sexism and discrimination in Nepal, and which includes scenes in which a person talks about how education was forbidden for girls in Nepal. However, discrimination is challenged and, accordingly, is clearly disapproved of by the work as a whole.
theme
There are references to climbers getting into difficulty and dying during climbs. There is also undetailed sight of bodies removed from mountains by air ambulances.
alcohol and smoking
There are brief scenes in which adults smoke cigarettes. A person talks about mountaineers getting drunk and fighting amongst themselves.
