theme
There are references to the consequence of mercury poisoning and images of people affected, whose bodies are deformed and who have cognitive disorders. Their plight gives rise to upsetting scenes in which their families reflect on the hardships of taking care of them and fighting for compensation from those responsible for the environmental pollution which caused the conditions. There is also archive footage from the time in which the events of the film take place which include brief, distressing images of animals on which the effects of the mercury poisoning were tested.
flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
There are brief images of real war violence and casualties. A man smashes a glass ashtray and cuts his wrist in undetailed manner; there is brief sight of blood on a floor as the wound is bandaged, and the man survives. There is moderate threat and violence, including a man being punched and kicked, leaving him with blood on his head. There are infrequent drug references.
