Mansarra

A group of men push another man to the ground and repeatedly hit and kick him until another person intervenes. There are also two scenes in which a man strikes his wife during an argument; however, such behaviour is clearly criticised.

There is infrequent use of strong language (‘f**k’). Milder terms include ‘bitch’, ‘bastard’, ‘shit’, ‘hell’ and ‘moron’.

A sex scene shows a man’s face in close up as he thrusts vigorously into a woman below frame. Angry and upset at being objectified by a man she thought of as a friend, a woman lies on a bed with her face covered and tells him, ‘If my body is all you want, come and do it’; the man is ashamed, however, and leaves the room in tears. Other scenes contain occasional mild sex references.

The film contains undetailed references to the sexual objectification of women, and to sexist attitudes conflating women’s worth with their ability to bear children. Other scenes feature brief and infrequent references to caste discrimination. Discrimination is not condoned.

One man insults another by telling him he looks like a person who sells drugs.

A drunk man repeatedly invades a woman’s personal space until she slaps him and shoves him away.

There is a brief close-up image of moderate bloody detail on a man’s face after he is injured in a traffic accident.

There are scenes of emotional upset. A couple’s marriage becomes increasingly strained, due in part to their ongoing fertility troubles. Another scene contains brief undetailed references to abortion.

There are scenes of drunkenness and smoking.
