Mama

There are a few moments of strong violence, including a sequence in which a man is chased by a supernatural creature who seems to snap the man's neck. There is also a flashback sequence in which a woman is shown stabbing a nun in the chest with a long metal spike, with a small amount of blood shown.

There is a sustained sense of supernatural threat throughout the film, focusing on child characters who often behave in a strange and creepy manner. At times the threat results in physical danger to characters, including several jump moments as scary figures burst out of the walls and try to grab people. There is also strong horror during some nightmare sequences, such as when the girls' uncle sees his dead brother warning him, with his brother making jerky, unnatural movements. Later, a woman is shown from behind making similarly unnatural movements and then turns around to reveal a horribly distorted face.
