MAKING MONSTERS is a Canadian horror thriller film in which a couple who run a successful online prank show are invited on a weekend trip to the countryside.

violence
A heavily bloodied naked man is chased down by a killer and wounded by bullets; the killer then hacks off one of the victim’s arms, with aftermath sight of the naked man lying next to his own severed limb. We see a metal prong protruding through a man’s face after he is impaled through the head with a pitchfork. Other people are shot or stabbed, creating spurts of blood, and another man is strangled to death.
threat and horror
There are scenes of strong horror and occasional ‘jump scare’ moments throughout, as people are stalked, terrorised and attacked by a masked murderer. A weeping woman is forced at gunpoint to dance on camera. In other scenes a woman experiences nightmarish visions wherein she is grabbed by a skinless creature.
There is frequent use of strong language (‘f**k’, motherf**ker’); milder terms include ‘cock’, ‘bitch’, ‘dick’, ‘shit’ and ‘asshole’. There are gory images of a realistic plastic model of a face with a crushed lower jaw. People are shown partying and smoking joints after drinking hallucinogenic tea. A woman is seen riding a man in bed, with thrusting detail and rear nudity; it is later revealed that the act was filmed without the couple's knowledge. Sex references include moderate verbal references to pornography, as well as a scene in which a doctor handles a sample cup of semen at an IVF clinic and makes a joke about the volume of liquid.
