- violence
There is stabbing, shooting, eye gouging and torture, as well as punches and kicks. Scenes of violence are often accompanied by bloody injury detail. There are scenes in which a woman is physically manhandled and verbally abused by her husband. When she accurately accuses him of murder and threatens to take her own life, he claims she is mentally ill and arranges for her to receive electroconvulsive therapy.
There is infrequent very strong language ('c**t'), and strong language ('f**k', 'c**ksucker') throughout, as well as milder terms including 'prick', 'shit', 'asshole', 'bastard', 'son of a bitch' and 'balls'. There is use of antisemitic language at a Nazi rally, and of the discriminatory term 'guinea'. Referring to his friend's facial injury, a man quips, 'She likes it rough, huh?'.
