People stab and slash each other with blades in battle scenes which include an emphasis on bloody detail. A man is beheaded; his bloodied severed head features briefly in the aftermath. There are also scenes of hand to hand combat.

A man drags a woman into a hut and she is heard screaming from within. There are also verbal references to rape.

A woman dies in childbirth. Milder scenes include those in which people grieve for the loss of loved ones.
